Food

Restaurants in town

This summer, there are a couple of options for dining in town.

If you have questions about any of these options, please contact those businesses directly.

Please note that there are no early breakfast options anywhere in town, and cooking your own breakfast will be your only option if you leave early on a tour.

Cooking at Bayview Garden

Our guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen where they are welcome to prepare their own meals, make coffee and tea, and enjoy the flexibility of cooking during their stay.

We encourage guests to bring their own food or purchase breakfast and dinner supplies in town. To get you started, we provide a selection of teas, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, basic cooking spices, and canola oil.

Where to Buy Food in Town

Option 1 – Fresh Mart

Our excellent local grocery store and liquor store, Fresh Mart, is open seven days a week, except on statutory holidays.

  • Monday–Saturday: 9:30 am–6:00 pm

  • Sunday: 10:00 am–4:00 pm

  • Approximately a 10-minute walk from Bayview Garden, up the road toward the airport

  • Phone: (250) 637-2249

Option 2 – K’il Kun Convenience

When Fresh Mart is closed—including evenings, overnight, and statutory holidays—K’il Kun Convenience is a handy alternative. It’s only about a three-minute walk from Bayview Garden, up Park Road, approximately four doors away.

You’ll find basic breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, along with snacks, ice cream, and other essentials.

  • Phone: (250) 637-2469 or (778) 268-2351

Guest Kitchen Guidelines

The kitchen is a shared space, and we ask all guests to help us keep it clean, tidy, and enjoyable for everyone.

  • The kitchen is available from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm.

  • Quiet hours throughout the property are 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.

  • The kitchen is for registered guests only. Guests do not share the kitchen with the owners, who have their own private living quarters.

  • Guests are welcome to bring and store their own food in the kitchen refrigerator and cupboards during their stay.

  • If you are leaving for a tour or overnight trip, please do not leave food in the guest kitchen refrigerator or freezer. Any food left behind will be removed.

We hope the kitchen gives you the freedom to prepare your own meals, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, and feel a little more at home during your stay at Bayview Garden.
